On the Saturday prior to Mardi Gras, the proper people of Baton Rouge push past their propriety, putting on their pink and participating in SPANISH TOWN - the BIGGEST AND LONGEST parade in Baton Rouge.
The party starts on Spanish Town Road at 7am for the country's only open parade-staging block party.
Our Krewe lines up on the corner of 3rd and Spanish Town, right on the Parade Start spot on the map.
The Mystic Krewe of Maximilian meets at the float at 530am on Spanish Town Saturday to ride downtown.
After the parade, the Krewe disembarks at the Queen Casino.
The Society for the Preservation of Louisiana Lagniappe hosts the parade and raises thousands of dollars every year for local deserving charities.
